60p

[DanHD]

Is the ex1 60p capable? rather, does XDCAM EX support 60p?
Does it support true 24 native frames per second as well, or only in a segmented frame output?

[PerroneFord]

Yes the EX1 supports 60p in 720, but not 1080.

Yes it outputs true native 24p frames.

[DanHD]

But does it record in 1080i, or p?

I mean, I know its capturing progressive info off the sensor, but are those progressive frames embedded in a 60I stream?

besically is it always 1080i with 60 fields

[PerroneFord]

No they are not progressive frames in a 60i stream. Actually, you have the choice of which to do. Or so it is on my 1.11 firmware EX1.

The sensors capture natively 1080/60p. You decide if the electronics convert that signal for recording to 1080/30p or 1080/60i. Unfortunately the 1080/60p-signal can't get recorded.

[DanHD]

Awesome. So 24 progressive full raster frames per sec is possible?

Exactly!
