60p vs 24p

Sorry if this topic's been beaten to death, I feel I'm still not finding the right answer despite a lot of research. 60p footage conformed to 23.98p always looks very nice and smooth (albeit slow) in terms of subject movement. Straight-up 23.98p footage usually appears "jittery"; subject movement is not very smooth.

I often see videos at normal speed that look very smooth in terms of subject movement (not sure what frame rate they've been shot at, though judging by their look, I'd imagine 25p or 24p.) For example, the short film "Mario and Nette," ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrDHEi3z-sY ) shot on the 5D Mark III. How is this possible or achieved? I'm shooting at the 1/50 shutter at 23.98fps and subject movement appears jittery, as with the short film "Color of Hope" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8mxac5HBNA&feature=related --look at the scenes with the little girl, granted they appear handheld, but pay attention to the subjects' movements)

On a video camera, "24p" typically is 24p over 60i (pulldown), thus footage can be played back properly on a standard NTSC monitor and subject movement appears smooth. Is that what's going on here? Is a pulldown being added to these videos?
