60i

Ive been seeing alot about people shooting in 60i for timelapse slo mo etc but i cant seem to figure out how to get into 60i? I then was talking to a buddy of mine who said the dvx doesnt even shoot 60i? Can anyone clear this up for me? thanks alot

60i is just another name for standard, interlaced, 29.97, NTSC video. On the DVX, all that means is "Progressive OFF."

And for timelapse (if ur using the b model), shoot in slow shutter mode THEN speed it up in editing. I don't hav my cam nearby so I can remember how to put it in slow shutter. But that will introduced major blurring so don't be 2 frightened :)

The A model does timelapse natively (no post work)

I have the A, but i wouldnt think that would make a difference for shutter speed? You still have control of all that.

What jambredz is talking about is the fact that the A has an interval record (time lapse) function, but the B does not. So, when shooting for time lapse with the 100B, one must simply record in real time and then time-compress the footage in post.

The slow shutter speed applies either way, but only if you want things to blur a bit (such as traffic, car lights at night, crowds of people walking along the sidewalk, etc.). If you want things sharp, don't use the slow shutter. To activate the slow shutter, simply press the "Shutter" button on the left side of the camera, behind the flip-out LCD. And use Shutter-Sel to scroll through the shutter speed options.
