60D - Will There Be A Firmware Upgrade?

I want the full 1080P sensor crop mode that the T3i has . Should be a simple firmware update, as the underlying tech/processors seems similar.

Is that too much to ask? Oh, and live focus zoom assist during filming. Is there a business/goodwill reason for Canon to offer such an upgrade to existing owners of superior products?

Oh, and can the ML guys get on the 60D? I donated and everything...

Hurry up. Jeez.

No. Why would they do that? Like it or not, Canon are in the business of making money. Where is the profit in making an updated firmware (even if they charge for it) when they could release a new camera instead and charge you $1000 to upgrade?

If you desperately need the zoom feature then either buy a T3i or hack the 60D yourself.
 
I agree with deltoidjohn, Canon has made one firmware upgrade for all their cams, and it was for the 5d like you mentioned. It's the only firmware I have ever heard of them releasing. Grab a t3i, it's prettymuch the same came anyways.
