60D overheating pass or fail?

Hey guys I'm currently enjoying my GH13, but I've been playing with photography a lot more nowadays and was looking at getting the 60D. The only thing that worries me is the overheating that the T2i and 7D had. Does the 60D have the same issue?

Does the 60d really not overheat while shooting video? With the design being so similiar I find it hard to believe.

I had no problems shooting a wedding with it for 6 hours. However, I was conservative and turned the camera off to cool down whenever I could. Never got a heat warning though, even with over an hour of constant recording.

It has only been out a month now, I believe, so if there is an issue, I'd bet it will crop up eventually.

The 60D also only has one Digic chip, if I remember right, so it's not going to produce as much heat as a 7D.

No overheating after one month of shooting with 60D, (we had 7D and T2i's so we are Happy to report NO OVERHEATING!!!!!!)

I played with one last weekend to shoot a fashion runway show. I ended up getting an overheat warning after only like 25 minutes of continuous shooting. The hand grip was extremely warm to touch after that and not just normal warmth from holding something, it was very distinct and lasted quite some time. I'm sure it's a bit isolated though, I haven't heard of other heat complaints like mine.

I've had my 60D for over a month or two now - haven't had it overheat once.
Granted - I haven't been in many hot environments either...but I have shot numerous interviews (shooting continuous 12 minute takes one after another).

The 7D (which I had before it) definitely was prone to overheating.
I don't feel like I'm seeing the same from the 60D at all.

The 7D has the tight weather sealing coupled with dual processors - that pretty much seems to set the stage for potential overheating when shooting continuous 12 minutes takes.

I have done a handful of two camera interviews, lasting between 30 minutes to over an hour. I used a T2i and 60D. The T2i consistantly gave me the temperature warning light but did not shut down and this was using the cam grip with two batteries in the grip of the T2i. The 60D did not even give me the temperature warning light.

Repeated overheating to report on 60D shoot in a (freezing) cold church, filming an event for about 1.5 hours at a time (in 12 min bursts of course). Multiple overheating messages, and you could just feel the thing was hot as hell. GH1 on same shoot was cold.

Wow are you saying you can record non stop for over an hour with the 60D ?? is that limited only to the size of the SD card then? I thought there was a 12 min. limit. Please excuse my ignorance. Or did you use an external recording device?

So far I've had zero issues with the 60D overhearting. That said, the longest shoot I've used it for was about three hours. Still, never saw any warning at all.

Not one warning on my 60D since Dec. 2010 and I shoot all day in the hot sun on the equator. I'm starting to wonder if the 60D has a warning light.
I had a 7D, 550D and they both overheated regularly.
