60D HD Video Out During Recording?

Does the HDMI out of the 60D drop down to SD when you press record like the 5Dii or does it stay HD like the 7D?

I would like to continue to use the AJA HDMI to SDI adapter I have and the change in res from HD to SD on the T2i when you hit record causes my adapter to blank out.

The 60D drops to SD during record (specifically it drops to 720 x 480). So it behaves like the 5D and the t2i/550D.

In another thread someone mentioned they called Canon support and asked specifically about this.

I saw that thread, thanks!

I am still looking for confirmation for a 60D user from here as tech support often doesn't know the right answers.

When I hook up my t2i to my HDTV via HDMI and turn it on in movie mode, the video on screen is nice and crisp as are the text overlays. When you hit record, the video blanks out for a second and when it returns, all of the on screen text is blurry and the video is less sharp. The main problem I am having is that when I am hooked up through my AJA HDMI to HD-SDI mini converter, this change in res (while the screen blanks out) messes up my mini converter and causes it to lose picture. A new mini converter would be a lot more than just upgrading cameras (and I would get more features too).

I wish someone had the guts to break open their camera and try to hardware hack the signal to see if we could get a HD output wiht no overlay
