60D destroying half my clips! Please help!

first of all, write-protect that card!!

if you've already tried several card readers and computers, with negative results, there's probably a problem in the card, but you don't want to change its content in any way

then, you can try to run some data-recovery programs; there are lots and lots of them, and I have tried no one; this one is supposed to be good

No idea what would cause that, but have you tried transferring files to computer using the camera as host? Maybe transcode in FCP directly from camera (locking the card first). Worst case scenario, you may manually capture the clips via HDMI playback to a video card.

Also, I'm convinced it's the 60D and not the card, because I have two of them, bought separately, and they're both doing it. Strange!

Are you so easily convinced?

Just kidding. Actually, your MBP or card reader or millions of other things could also go wrong. Try to use the EOS Utility program, which comes with your camera, and you should be fine (I don't use MBP!).

Your 60D is able to read and (of course) write the cards, and play back all the recorded videos. What else do you want your camera to do for you that it has not done for you yet?
