I just shot a clip that was over 15 minutes and I ended the clip. Could I shoot a clip that fills up the card? Who started this myth that these camera can only shoot for 12 minutes at a time?

Just wondering,

If you put on the lens cap, it will record for just under 30 minutes.

The clip length cap is put in place due to European tax laws, but is implemented by the bitrate of the video... less detailed scenes will record for longer. The average scene with normal movements goes for about 12 minutes before hitting the cap.

Don't ask me exactly how this is done, as I don't know... but Philip Bloom told me, so I know it must be true.

you can also change the recording length by changing the bitrate settings with ML!
i think cbr 0.3x will give you around 40 minutes recording time before it hits the 4gb limit...
