60D any way to set 1/45 shutter for video?

Does it have to be exactly 45º?
Because if not, then well, for 24p or 25p, 1/50s is 180º, 1/100s is 90º, 1/200 is 45º.

If it has to be exact... then I'm not sure. I read the ML devs saying, a long time ago, that what Canon calls 1/50s is actually 1/48s, but I doubt it would be exactly 1/48s either, so, go figure. Someone would have to find a way to measure it (hint: not easy).

Ha, I have always wanted 1/48th, for the placebo effect if nothing else. There is always a sort of mental dissonance when looking at 1/50th and telling yourself it is the same as 1/48th, vs seeing 1/48th and not thinking it is inaccurate.
 
1/50th is so close to 1/48th there is no discernable practical difference. The "motion blur" of 1/48th is what you're after and you'll see no difference from 1/48th. "Placebo" effect may be more accurate than you can imagine.

Actually if you are in NTSC "territory" you may be better off using 1/60th when any of your filming may include artificial lighting. There is a potential "banding" effect or flickering that can occur when your shutter speed is not equal to or some close multiple of power line frequency. For NTSC that will be around 60Hz and in PAL areas it can be around 50Hz.

Which is why I think it's actually 1/50s, but ML used to call it 1/48s and they said the reason was that this was more accurate. Maybe they're close enough that you don't even get flicker.
 
In PAL it is 1/50.000 (or 1/33.333 when the display shows 1/30). The 5D3 nightly build is computing it directly from the duty cycle of the sensor, found in ADTG timer registers, and I think it's accurate within tens of microseconds. Old cameras (e.g. 500D) use the APEX approximation (1/48) and most other cameras use a wild guess that should be correct in PAL, but needs recalibration in NTSC.

Canon does some extra rounding (they don't use APEX units blindly in movie mode), probably to help with flicker.

I was getting flicker(rolling bands too) at 24fps 1/50th in Asia (India, China, Thailand). I had to move to 25p and that fixed everything. (Using Canon 1D-C)
