60D and Manual lens LCD exposure preview issues in M (Manual) model

A good while back there was discussion about how the Canon 60D and even the 7D does not properly display exposure on the LCD when used in M mode (aka Manual mode). Basically, the 60D remembers the last F-Stop of the last electronic lens previously used, so when you put on an old manual Nikon lens, the exposure preview on the LCD can be way off depending on the last F-Stop that was electronically set.

Manual lenses preview great in Movie Mode, just not Manual mode.

I was wondering if Alex at Magic Lantern ever came up with a fix for this? Or did Canon ever release a firmware that deals with this Manual lens issue? Or if there was some other trick to make this work correctly. I normally only shoot video, but lately I've been doing lots of time-lapses, so it would be nice for the M (manual) mode LCD to preview exposure correctly.
