60 Second film festival

Hey all,

A friend of mine asked me shoot a 60 second short with him for a local festival. The theme this year is "Adventure".

Yesterday we shot the first 47 seconds and are missing the last scene and I would really like people's creative input as to what we may be able to shoot to close this piece.

We like things funny, twisted, weird, anything that gets a reaction basically. here is the link to the video:

In the end of the script, we had written that the last scene would be the man in his car during a rain storm at night with blood all over his hands and a bare leg sticking up from the back seat. I know, i know, wtf right? But that's kind of the point, we are going for something that's either got a good punch, that's shocking, that makes you say "what the hell did i just watch". With the sentimental music building up, and the cute moments in their lives, we were hoping to close it with an image that leaves the audience confused or disturbed.

I had an idea to make some type of ad out of it, either for condoms, for tampons, or a mastercard type spoof.

I was also thinking of adding tag lines to each section of the video ( in the vain of mastercard )

part 1) For all of life's firsts
part 2) For all of life's promises
part 3) For all of life's adventures
part 4) For all of life's surprises
part 5) ?????

Anyway, would love your guys' creative input. Anything goes really and I am really anxious to hear what you guys may have brewing in your mind. You would get credit, of course, for your idea if used.

Thanks folks! Keep rocking and rollin.

Love the piano. Interesting.
Not sure about that last scene. For real punch it might be a great last scene to have the blood on her leg, him holding a crying baby and having his wife completely unresponsive. Possibly dead. A car in the rain sitting on the side of a quiet road could be the last shot.

Just spit-balling but that might hit a lot of people in the gut.

Looking good.

Wouldn't even have to show the baby, just the blood on her leg as you said. Maybe a last push before she loses consciousness.
Then in the last shot of the car on the side of the road we can hear him calling out her name but the only response is that of the baby crying.

the most difficult part is the last shot or two has to happen within 12 seconds. Really has to be 60 seconds on the spot. And there is no diegetic sound throughout the piece so that is something we need to keep.

I have to say that the ending doesn't come off quite right for me. Seems like it's going out of its way to be shocking. Feels a little over the top to me.

Great video overall though.

That was well-done.

I think the reaction you get will vary depending on the viewer's mood when they watch it... I was prepared for something to gross me out, but I hate to admit I laughed out loud at that ending. It was the kid's face that did it. If it weren't for all the little scenes setting up "the perfect life" it wouldn't have worked... plus the tester scene which tells you he isn't really down with the idea.

This is one of those things that, if you really analyze it... isn't funny at all, but if you let the setup unfold... it's pretty effective.

You got me watching your vimeo channel... you're good man.
