Here's some info on how the MLV viewer on the converter works.

Features/usage

.RAW, MLV and CinemaDNG playback in real-time (if you have fast file read and modest GPU), single and multi-file
.Progress bar and timestamp overlay
.Pause playback using SPACE key
.Jump to next/previous RAW or MLV files in same directory as current file using O/P keys.
.Step forward and backward through frames by one second (LEFT/RIGHT cursor keys) or one frame (,/. keys) while playing or paused
.Brightness control while playing using UP/DOWN cursor keys
.Fast GPU Bilinear demosaicing for playback
.High-quality (but slow) CPU demosaicing (AMaZE) when paused or enabled (Q key)
.Encoding frame sequences and audio to ProRes using ffmpeg with E key
.White Balance adjustments. Keys: 1=WhiteFluoro,2=Daylight,3=Cloudy,0=None, 4/7=Red down/up, 5/8=Green down/up, 6/9=Blue down/up
.Global tone mapping, Linear mapping, Log mapping toggle with "T" key
.Drop-frame+audio and non-drop-frame modes. Toggle with "D" key
.Slide audio sync -0.5,-0.05,+0.05,+0.5 seconds with V/B/N/M keys.
.Exit viewer with ESC key

The sound module is the one labeled MLV_SND.MO when you extract the zipfile from the link I posted.

I loaded in this file but it crashes my camera and I have to pull the battery out each time.

I posted a link to a video over at the lens section…. it was entirely shot on the Zeiss Otus 55mm 1.4, but it was also shot with the MLV module and used the mlv_dump.osx file to extract the dngs.

I didn't try crop with the 55mm I'm affraid. However I did play around with crop mode with a 70-200 and a 2x extender on it Was fun for a while, but quality wasn't stellar with that combo. Maybe I should try out the 55mm as well.

mlv_rec.mo is the module for recording raw video in mlv format and mlv_snd.mo is the module for recording sound with the mlv raw video.

Did you enable the MLV_snd module as well? You have to enable two separate modules to get both the footage files and the wav file.

That's how I shot the Sveggøyra film... I just enabled the mlv_rec because I didn't need the sound.

I enabled the mlv and sound modules. mlv_snd and mlv_rec

the wav is contained together with the raw video inside the mlV files in your CF. They will be extracted separately after using an extraction app like this.
