5D MKIII specs

I'm sorry but none of that footage tells me anything at all, even the IBP vs I-Frame.

Come on, how hard is it to put the damn thing on a tripod and hold the shots long enough to really see what's going on?

I want to see both zone plates and real world footage, at base ISO.

No judgment until then.

Thanks man. But, this is not impressive at all. Not even a lil' bit unfortunately.
It looks almost exactly like the MKII in every way and even giving a benefit of the doubt to youtube compression for artifacts, it doesn't affect the resolution by much, if at all.

Maybe the C-DSLR will be better. But, now w/ the upcoming Bolex (potentially being cheaper and superior in every way filming wise), even that C-series camera had better be on point :-/
So far, the MKIII seemed like alotta' waiting for a lil' itty bitty pay off. Very typical Japanese business practice (coming from the gaming industry here).

No bueno.

How many times have you posted in this thread your dislike for the camera? Just let it go man...........

Even a Canon t2i can produce a beautiful image with proper location, lighting, editing. I love the image produced by Canon dslrs, it is no longer the technology holding anyone back.

Better in every way filming wise? A camera that maxes out at 400 iso (800 after post) is better in low light than the 5d mk iii which looks to have clean 6400 iso. And this is coming from the person who has serial number 5 or 6 of the new Bolex. I'm excited for it, but the 5d mk iii has advantages over it.

Don't mind him , his distaste for Canon is beyond apparent. Also the 5d mark ii has a beautiful image that I love and many others as well. Countless videos prove this, the 5d mark iii will be even more sensitive to low light situations which will make this camera king. Many people really have no idea how great this new 5d will be, but they will......

I looked through it quickly and didn't see anything about crop modes, so not really sure what all that info we saw before was. I'm actually a bit surprised it doesn't have this, or, maybe I just missed it.

I'd be interested to know this as well, since this one of the main features about the GH2 that I find invaluable. Especially for steadicam work. Having two focal lengths to work with without having to disturb your setup is just plain awesome.

it's true that the 5D3 is still looking underwhelming, but the D800 has horrible moire that I'd rather avoid

at least that's my conclusion after seeing this:

* HDMI-out is interlaced. Really. As in "the same way that we used to rock back in the 20th century". Thanks, but no, thanks.
* See those horizontal lines in the notebook page? See how they randomly change from green to red? Guess what that is. Exactly. Any camera movement and you'd be watching full-rainbow psychedelic footage. Can't wait for the brick wall tests from angry users to appear.

Noise looks much more organic on the 5D III.

It's a much better codec and NR applies to video and is adjustable. The dynamic range looks greatly improved which was the one thing I wasn't sure about until I saw this test. Not sure I can hold out for the C-DSLR.

It was very encouraging to see what Andrew did with sharpening in post. That looked outstanding. I don't think we've seen any footage with sharpening boosted in cam now that aliasing and moire have been resolved. The 5DIII should tolerate boosting sharpening in cam with good results. Audio also sounded very good. I think this may be my cam.

This one sold me on it. I'm gonna pick one up next week.

What Andrew showed is what looked to be applied on in those promo videos, to my eyes. Sharpening. None of the other test videos look like the first Canon narrative examples even at quarter size and better compression.

It's a very distinct and almost obvious look when moving, like everything's been peppered with electricity.
