When stating that ALL-I or IPB is better, it's helpful to show proof:
I agree it is helpful to show proof, can you post some frame exports of your 1.2.1 footage?
What we need now are updated comparisons. Everything out there is more than 1 year old. Many of the comparisons were done with Premiere Pro CS 5.5 which I think had some issues with 5D3 footage. Others were done with FCP and transcoding to ProRes. These old comparisons are invalid. CS 6 handles the native codec properly now.
I have done some very extensive codec testing and confirmed there is no such thing as lossless transcoding. There are many valid reasons for transcoding footage but for maximum image quality nothing is better than the native footage in an editor that handles it correctly.
