550D video quality with hack

I don't know if this has been talked about before and if so, I have not been able to find anything
on the subject. With all the wonderful improvements that Magic Lantern has brought to the 550D,
has the video quality itself been improved. Is there a visible difference, if any, with a non hacked
550D. I know the MLH has brought many new functionalities that help tremendously in the
manipulation of this camera, but I presume that as long as the codec remains the same not
much will change in the video itself.

ML gives you some GUI improvments (like showing you eating out shadows and whites) and unlocking of firmware-protected ISO values and the like.
 
the Qscale option in ML allows you to record using the same codec but with a higher bitrate

in theory, that should give you a better image quality, but it's still 4:2:0, and the improvements, if visible at all, seem to be small

I love ML but I've never even tried that parameter
