550d/T2i lens compatibility help?

[Curnsie]

Hi folks,
I'm new to Canon cameras, the 550d/T2i being my first Canon DSLR. I've moved from Nikon due to the Canons excellent video capabilities.

Does anyone know if a Canon EF 70-200mm f4 L USM Lens would be compatible with the 550D/T2i? The lens is used and is 2 years old.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

This lens will work, yes. It is a really good lens, btw. Make sure you can test it before buying, because why would a person want to get rid of such a fine lens, unless something is broken?

Also, be aware of the fact that this lens also has a model with IS (image stabilisation), which makes it much more expensive. Don't pay the expensive price for the non - IS version. They look identical, btw.

Thanks for your help.

Yes this is the non IS lens. I would be using it on a tripod mainly so IS isn't important. Also the cost of an IS L series canon is out of my league. Unfortunately I can't test it as its an eBay auction, however the seller has described it as being in excellent condition.

I just wanted to check before I bought.
