52mm to 77mm Step-Up Adapter Question

Can I just purchase one 52mm to 77mm step-up adapter to use with my four Nikon AI-S lenses? or should I purchase one for each? Will it be able to just screw onto each 52mm UV lens filter that's on each lens? and can I still use the 52mm nikon lens caps? or do I need to get 77mm lens caps?

Purpose of the adapter is so I can use 77mm filters.

I just use one but it's good to have a spare lying around. They sometimes get stuck to filters so I bought some plastic filter wrenches off ebay. Yeah you'd need 77mm caps if you put step-up rings on each lens. I don't see the point of multiple step rings unless you have multiple filters which would cost a fortune for good filters.
