you may have seen the past version i had which was a rough edit. But here's the final. It's based around the lead vocalist parents divorce when he was younger.
It's a touchy subject for him but he was very well satisfied with it.

dvx forum seems kinda dead lately...hmm.

I agree...

I really liked the video. The shots in the field with the light behind them are awesome. How did you shoot that? I am planning to shoot a music video in Austin in a few weeks and would love some tips-i've never done one before.
Great work!

Dude this is great! Its nice to see music videos being made that correlate with the music. Cinematography was very good. Color grading awesome. Editing was top notch. I watched the whole thing (twice actually) This is a good song too These guys are great.
If I HAD to offer something as a critique I would say that some of the close ups look like they were framed 16x9 not 2.39X1 but that's getting down to the nit-picking level so you can simply disregard it ;-) great work.

excellent camera work! very smooth and tasteful with a professional feeling with all of the very slow moves. dolly on much of this? steadicam?

excellent color grading. simply felt...right. although not a lot of story line scenes but what was there was strong. seemed like there was quite a gap between the story scenes in the middle until the lady went to her knees at the door.

i liked the song. id give it about an 8 out of 10. camera work and editing felt "one" with the music and mood of the singer.

my only slight criticisms might that the hair on these guys got just a little "old" after awhile. especailly since they all were sporting the exact same thing. mind you i think the hair style it very cool looking but somehow it just kept grabbing my attention in a sort of goofy way. ill bet all the little girls are loving it though...haha so what do i know.

another pet peve (not your fault) is...an electronic keyboard in a very organic setting? cheezy & tacky! even an old Wurlitzer electric or an old beat up Fender Rhodes would have been much cooler IMO short of carrying some beat to hell old spinet or upright to the locations which would have been the coolest.

really a great job overall. you have a right to be proud.

beautiful video, looked very professional, good job BUT what is with the hair??I've been out of the states for 8 years but is that whats "in" now??How can they even see?

But you can't dictate style to them , I know.

I'm 29, BTW.

Wow! Well thank you David! You gave me a fantastic response! Thank you.
And when you say the girls are loving it they are indeed! My band always plays shows with these guys everytime they come back here and the girls drool over these guys. Not arrogantly but i know they are loving every minute of it haha.
I agree with the story being kinda gapped between every other story portion, the story portion shoot was so little i didn't have much to work with as for the timing. Def learned though next time i do a music video.

I saw your photography as well! Amazing! Your work is phenomenal!! Where are you located if you don't mind me asking?

Once again many thanks David!

Thanks Boke!
The hair is definitely the style now. From a myriad of genres too! Whether it be emo, indie, screamo, or anything else it's really common. ha. Somehow they see. I knew somebody who had to go to his eye doctor irregularly because his vision was always covered by his hair leaving him becoming more and more blind in one eye! haha! I'm 17, i doubt anyone will listen to me about dictating style haha.

Thanks again mate!

its amazing that your only 17!!! thats a lot of talent for someone at your very young age plus your stuff already has a seasoned & polished look to it. great instincts and vision. it seems you were made to do this kind of stuff...stick with it.
