General 4x4 ND filters

I'm looking to get a little more shallow depth of field shots with my 50mm and 85mm primes, during my shoots out in the sun. Obviously, when shooting out in the sun, it's a bit difficult to achieve when having a low f-stop is nearly impossible without some type of ND filtering, with that said, my mattebox has 2 slots for 4x4 filters and I'm looking for some recommendations from you fellas! Budget is somewhat of a factor, so nothing too extraordinarily insane, as far as price goes please!
