4K to 35mm film transfer?

Just trying to get a handle on the learning curve of moving from HDV to this cam. What are the consideration, filming technique wise, if one was looking to create a project aimed at theatrical release? Are there any considerations to take into account regarding speeds etc?

You don't need to point it out, I am a complete novice when it comes to RED and the whole tech side of things and I am happy to mention that. I'm looking to move up to RED potentially and I guess seeing as the combined knowledge on this forum speaks volumes, I have come to the right place to discuss this.

If anyone out there is willing to help me along with deciphering all that is RED, in non engineering terms, I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks,
Mark.

You'll probably need a focus puller because of the limited DOF you get with RED in comparison with the HDV cameras.

I'm planning on doing something underwater and in doing so I'm a one man show so far as camera operations are required.

Thanks for the input,
Mark.

Err.. F8 and infinity. Maybe youll need a wider aperture for underwater, but all the same.

LMAO!! Thanks acehole111. "Underwater Focus Puller needed, must have great lung capacity--knowledge of synchronised swimming a plus!"

Well the main reason someone might want to transfer their 4K project to 35mm would be to display it at maxium resolution at the festivals. I doubt any festivals will have 4K projectors, so you would have to downconvert, probably to 1080p. Isn't that correct?
