Hey yall,

Here's the link to my 48 hour short film "House Of Blu"

http://media.putfile.com/House-Of-Blu

The film was shot on the DVX100A with the Letus35 Flipped, using 28 and 50mm Nikon lenses. It was edited in Vegas 6, with a little help in After Effects.

This was for the Phoenix 48 hour challenge... www.thea3f.net

Here's the guidelines:
Length: 0-7min
Theme: Mistaken Identity
Line: "I don't think this is going to work."
Prop: Someone had to be watering a plant at some point during the movie.

House of Blu walks away with 4 awards!!

1st place for Best Cinematography
3rd place for Best Acting
3rd place for Best Overall Film
Best Use Of Prop Award

The film will be posted on undergroundfilm.com

I like the look of it. I've got a Letus and some people may disagree with me but I like the look it gives off. Did you add the vignetting to it? or was that from teh L35?

I thought the girl actors acting was a little 'read off a page sounding'
I loved the guy with the mustache. It was great little short...haha I just recognized youre name .... you had talked to me awhile back on AIM ( i'm hfunction )

Good job.

EDIT* how you added the watering the plant bit was great... funny. :D

the acting was besides awful but i loved the video. Framing and editing were both relaly nice.

That the letus flip? or did you write flipped because you flipped it in post?

Why is there a little vignette ?

Yeah, I got some black edges, but I think it was because for a fwe shots I forgot to strap it in tighter and the frame wasn't parallel to the ground.

goods:
camera work is very good, good story
not so goods:
The girl cop isn't good at acting at all..ha seriously she looked like she was reading her words off the card, and she has no enthusiasm

9 out of 10 I give it

"48 hours film"

great !

the image is a bit softly for my taste but the deep of field is amazing.

very interesting story and time very good.

congrats

I agree with most of the comments, especially with girl cop actor. Inside the car, I felt that focusing with the adapter was a bit over-used. Other than that, good job!

I also agree with most of the comments. The female, like everyone else stated, just didn't pack any punch with her delivery. The man with the mustache was a pretty cool guy and added some naturality.

if we're on the topic of the actors, I felt that the man in the glasses just didn't have much effect on the viewer. I sat here thinking "I could take him". haha. Seriously though, I guess it was just because the viewers don't know his motivation.

Great short though. :)

I could type what everyone else is saying, or I could just say that I agree with the general response..

Great stuff!
