4 channel audio only with built in mic, any ideas?

Reading the operating manual it seems cear that to record 4 channels, two of those must be the built-in mic.

I am disappointed that we can only record 4 channels of audio if two of those come from the onboard mic. When there are 4 inputs (2 xlr, 2 rca) why not use them?

-Anyone got any suggestions: I'm thinking about having my excellent tech rewire the internal mic to allow for external feeds. (void guarantee is OK)

A 3.5mm Minijack input to the onboard mic (like with the XL1...) would be perfect.
Wouldn't add much, but you could use it with, for example, a Beachtek adapter.

Yes, just my thinking: use the xlr's for good mic's (I'll use onboard ms stereo) and the inputs for e.g. two wireless.
will be interesting to see if this will be possible :undecided
will suggest to panasonic for the hvx200c, due december 06

I was thinking of using my MS mike as well. I also have a beachtek for my old XL1.. so you think that would work plugged into the onboard mike?

I think it's cool to have a multi-track capability as well.
