3D tracked footage

Like I said, the track on that one was pretty rough. I have a better piece of footage tracked that I'm putting a little effort into, should have a test up soon.

A quick test of a shallow DOF handheld shot, 3D motion tracked, and with 3D objects inserted with "correct" DOF.

The track isnt perfect, and my "spoon" obects were placed hastily.... But its nice to see you can feed all the proper camera lens/film back/aperture/focus/ and get somthing quite close.

Hi Mike.

That looks great.

I have been working on a similar project but run into a brick wall when it came time to load the boujou track and the background plate into Cinema 4D for the addition of CG elements.

I shot test footage of a street scene using DV NTSC 29.97, 720x480. In boujou, I let it know that the footage was interlaced, lower field first. The resulting track was great. and the test object available within Boujou stuck to the tracked scene like glue.

When I brought the track into Cinema 4D, there is no option for the timeline to be 29.97 fps. The closest is 30 FPS. This is throwing off my solved camera and its correspondence to the background plate in C4D, producing shake.

I think that this is due to Cinema 4D not being able to deal with partial frames.

On your project -- did you run into similar issues, or did you shoot 30 fps progressive, or 25 fps PAL?

Many thanks.
