3D or VR180 camera with external power & recording?

Greetings - perhaps it is me, but many posts I have seen have 3D/VR/VR180 cameras as a kind of toy where it either has an internal battery good for at most a few hours or internal video recording for that (or less!) time (or, it costs $10k+). I want to record for hours and hours ...

Is anyone aware of 3D/4kVR/VR180 cameras with open-ended use? I can run power and (via a PC/laptop) recording to it, if I can find the right equipment.

If you have big enough cards (and external power input) then of course you can run for hours and hours, even on quite "low" end cameras.

Why though would you want to do this?

My interests are outside shooting in severe weather, and indoors in live music/stage events. Neither is convenient for/conducive to swapping batteries and cards, though of course it could be done.
