Hi,
Does anyone know what would happen if i use the Panasonic 3D Lens 12.5mm F12 on the GH1?

Would i be able to focus or the camera just would not recognize the lens?

If the camera doesn't support it, then nothing at all will happen. It just won't work. I put that lens on the AF100 in Japan just to see what would happen, and ... black screen. Nothing.

That lens is solely for making still pictures, on bodies that support it through the appropriate firmware. I don't know if the GH1 has that firmware, or if it'll ever get it, but if you don't have the firmware installed that supports that lens, then there's no point at all in getting the lens.

From the Panasonic Lumix site.

The world's first*1 interchangeable 3D lens LUMIX G 12.5mm / F12 (H-FT012) realizes 3D shooting (35mm camera equivalent: 65 mm)*2. When this lens is attached, the DMC-GH2, DMC-G2 or DMC-GF2 artificially produces an effect called visual disparity*3. Left-eye and right-eye images are captured simultaneously by the two lenses, and recorded using the side-by-side method. To view the recorded images*4, simply connect the camera to a 3D compatible TV, such as a VIERA 3DTV with a mini HDMI cable.

*1 For a digital interchangeable lens as of September 21, 2010.
*2 When setting the aspect ratio at 16:9 with the DMC-GH2.
*3 Compatible with the DMC-GH2, DMC-G2 with the firmware ver.1.1 and DMC-GF2. A 3D media player that supports the MP (Multi-Picture) format is required to view 3D images.
*4 A TV that is capable of 3D playback using the side-by-side method, 3D Eyewear, and HDMI cable connection are required for playing the 3D images you have recorded.

Yep only stills as of this current time, to stop it competing with the TM750 I guess.

You can post process the image your get from the 3D lens yourself, i think you'd have to block the contacts somehow and have the camera set on "shoot without lens"
