360 degree music video shot with 7D + Sony Bloggie

This video is the ****! Awesome work! And I'm critical about most vids. Nice work.. and I mean it!

That was a very well done video. Good song too. I had the idea to do something using 360 video like that. I think this is a very effective use of the technique but a little challenging to watch. It may be my ADD kicking in but it was hard to focus on the pieces when you had three different video tracks visible all at once.

all in all very impressive work. nice

Thanks Treynolds!

You are right about the 3 tracks that are difficult to follow :-)!
I watched this video a lot of times (as you can imagine...) and it's only just before uploading it on youtube that I saw 3 "errors" in the 7D footage!

Good as an effect, but not as an entire video. The point of interest is to do something when someone does not expect it. If you do a whole project like this you have lost everything that is supposed to make someone stop and watch what you just did. My honest opinion is this simply does not work for an entire project.

Thanks for your comment vision_filmz!
It's true we could have had another concept and just the put in the 360 shots during the chorus.
Maybe if we had a much bigger budget (we had aprox 1000$ for this video) to go around the world we could have shot some different pictures in different places and not only shoot in Switzerland. Like a sunny beach, big city,...

I've been following this thread and its great to see it resurface.

Steven I love what you've done. Especially the subtle reverse in pan direction edited to be in time with the scratch.

Also I don't think the 3-split on the screen is overdone for the whole clip – for me its fine. My only concern in making something like this
would be if the musicians wanted themselves larger in the frame.

To shed some light on my opinion again, I personally think the project is great , but me as a viewer my honest opinion still stands that it is simply too much for an entire project. It's just like music that has rising and lowering crescendos ..... My point is to find that balance :)
