T2i 35mm Moviemaking through T2i and 18-55, 55-250 n 50mm f1.8?

The 550D with the 18-55 is a good low cost starting point, but I gotta agree with Draven the Canon 50mm 1.8 was great the day I got it, but now I never pull it out.
I would start with the kit then add on a Nikon 50mm 1.4 vintage lens instead and start building a set of manual
primes. These lenses are low cost, high quality and you will never sell them. They will adapt to any future camera you upgrade to.
I know I keep mentioning Olympus OM lenses because I have almost all of them from my first SLR camera. they have the same reputation for quality as Nikon or any other great lens and you can save a lot of money.

Thanx for the links and advise of old lenses but can they ship these to india also what about the adapter ...

you'll find info on shipping in the ebay ads themselves; each seller has different policies

I use fotodiox adapters; you can find them in ebay; they're the usual recommendation (specially the "pro" ones)

I think that if you like shallow depth of field with a natural lens (for this sensor is near to 35mm) you need a lens with low aperture in this range, probably 2.8 or less.
I use a sigma 24-70mm 2.8 with great results.
Its also convenient a ND filter if you plan to shot outdoor on a sunny day.
The kit lens doesn't have constant aperture so it blinks when you make zoom.

Hi all, thanx for your time and kind suggestions... All I got through this thread is that I am going to purchase a canon t2i or 550d with a kit 18-55 lens. I am going to order an old wide angle lens of k-mount 35mm or 28mm with f2.8. a telephoto lens of tamron 70-300 macro. and a tripod. Of-course I am getting a 4gb card and a camera bag free but I am considering to purchase two sandisk 8gb or 16gb extreeme. I think the kit lens is enough for normal shots, the wide angle is not the real wide I am going to use it as a normal prime and the lens and also the kit lens at 18 or 20 will fulfill the wide angle requirement. The telephoto is enough for daylight and sunny days situations I got here. As far as I am going to shot a feature film, there is not really lack of light. I will use some lighting equipment. Once again thanx for your time and knowledge. I will keep posting the results, once the shooting start. but as it scheduled at feb 2012 you have to wait for little longer. I feel that the THREAD ENDS HERE!

I see your point, but I'm thinking in a couple of years you might regret selling the 50mm. I'll bet full frame cameras like the 5d will be the NEW T2i. Everybody will be shooting full sensor. Then 30mm will be too wide. Just my thought's. A little predicting the future, so take it with a grain of salt. I'm holding on to mine for now.

Just sold my 50mm 1.8 yesterday.

Won't miss it one bit. It was a starter lens but was too telephoto. Barely got any use.

After I bought the Sigma 30mm having the 50mm and even buying it seemed like a waste of money. I only bought it because people on these forums recommended it when I was starting out with the DSLR.

If I had to do it all over again it would have made sense to put the 50mm money into saving up for a more usable wider lens like the Sigma 30mm.
