32 P2, 64 P2 or Laptop

Help me out.
I'm now a proud new owner of a HPX171 coming from 2 Canon XL2s.
With the camera I bought a new e-series 32 gig P2 card.
My work includes concerts, musicvideos and theatre. I want to film 720p 25p. That means for concerts which are between half an hour and one hour the space of my card is big enough. For musicvideos it's ok too because in the breaks I can drop the footage on my macbook.

But for filming theatres I need space for around 2 1/2 hours. Another 32P2 card wouldn't work therefore it has to be a 64 P2 card. But what's about a laptop with pcmcia-slot and onlocation? I don't cut on my macbook I cut with a pc and adobe premiere so a laptop would be good for mobile cutting. Here's what I figured out:

laptop + 32 P2 card = 1200,-
64 P2 card = 750,-
laptop = 750,-

What should I do? It would be nice to hear some ideas :-)

NoahK's absolutely right.

but, If you have the support or time to off-load to a laptop you should be able to find a good used one (with pcmcia slot) on eBay or elsewhere for considerably less that $750 . . . like something in the $200 range.

(I own On Location CS4 and while it has it's place wouldn't use it for long term (hours long) shoots where continious lengthy recorded was required--that's where P2 shines).

Best.

id go the card route if possible as well. but on the other hand i shoot longform to a laptop (in my case a macbook pro) via firewire all the time and have never had an ounce of trouble. as long as you can deal with being anchored, its a breeze!

Hi.
I thought about the firestore but I think I will go with the 64 card because I can have both cards the 32 and the 64 in the cameraslots and that will give me enough time for reccording.
They need no extra space and maybe one day, when the cards pay out (is that right? pay out?) then I can buy a laptop for mobile cutting but I film now for five years and mobile cutting was in my case never necessery. Time will tell.
