30PN FCP problem

So I've been scouring the boards and the net trying to see if someone has had this problem, but have yet to drum up the issue I am having.
Here it is:
Footage was recorded in 720/30PN in the Video mode at 30 frame rate. When you bring up the clip property setting up in the thumbnail menu, it shows as such:
V_Format: DV100_720/59.94p
Frame Rate: 29.97p

It was brought into FCP 5.1.8? (a slightly earlier version than the current, and on a Macbook) via firewire from the camera.

When you play it in the timeline, the video looks like it was undercranked and the audio plays normal. When you pull up the clip format, the vid rate shows as 24.98

I then took the same clip and put it into a Powerbook G4 with FCP 6.0.2. The clip plays fine and the vid rate is 29.97.

Both timelines were setup as DVCPro HD 720/30p and the clip plays fine on the camera. The P2 card was 8GB.

I then shot some new footage with the same settings as the clip in question and on the same 8GB card. On both machines the new clips imported fine, played fine and had a vid rate of 29.97.

So ... anyone have anything for me? I could say maybe the earlier version of FCP is the culprit, but that doesn't account for why the newly shot clips would be fine. Any ideas would be helpful. I'm at a complete loss.

Did you select the correct codec prior to ingesting? That is not the same thing as adjusting the sequence setting, which FCP can do automatically when adding the first clip to the timeline.

Yep, everything was set correctly. The bad clip would not work on the older FCP version, but was fine on my machine and the new clips were fine as well.
