30p vs. 60i for extreme sports

through an experts opinion, i would like to know which is better for capturing very fast movements with NO motion blur. i know there is a way to shoot fast movements with my dvx100b without any motion blur and i just cant figure out how yet. any comments?

60i with a fast shutter, say 1/100 or faster.
This will cause strobing however - the "saving private ryan" look.
Everything is a compromise between temporal clarity and smoothness of motion.
What is your distribution channel?
DVD? Internet? Broadcast?
Don't use 30p if you intend international distribution - the conversion to PAL is ghastly

i upload all of my projects onto vimeo, and im editing with fcp 5 but i usually use a shutter speed of 1/120 and still get blurry images. i just dont understand

If you want no motion blur, I've found its best to use a shutter thats 1/fps(3); 24p shoot at 1/250, 60i shoot at 1/500 or greater.
Just out of curiosity, why do you want no motion blur?
