I'm not looking for total direction, just a few pointers here and there would be nice.
As for what I'm shooting: Alot of interviews mostly with a ton of b-roll. I mean ATON. I'll be shooting alot of city stuff with some landscape

Here's what I have:
-Canon 550d (t2i)
-16gb Class 6 card
-Canon 28-135mm USM IS lens
-Zoom h4 (looking to upgrade to h4n possibly?)
-Azden SGM-1x Shotgun Microphone
-LCDVF loupe
-Super Tak 50mm f1.4 (low light & night stuff)
-Zoom h4
-Wireless Lavalier mic

Here's what I plan to get:
-Manfrotto Monopod (too Run'n'gun to use a tripod [kit needs to be as light weight as possible)
-Upgrade to h4n. Useability upgrade would be worth it since its going to be hardcore run-n-gun
-Fader ND filter
-10 batteries
-3x more 16gb SD cards (in the addition to a USB OTG device (allows for SD to HDD transfers without computer)
-Wide angle lens (Tokina 12-24mm maybe? Needs to be around $400-$500)

Here are my questions:
1. I'm thinking of picking up a BushHawk shoulder support since it's lightweight, rugged, easy to use, and portable. I know it's not the best (I've heard I should go counterweighted, etc. but I feel this will work fine from past expirence) Any thoughts?

3. What kind of security should I be looking for? I assume cable locks, luggage locks, etc. Anything else you guys have found valuable?

4. Anything else in general you guys would find useful? This is run-n-gun hardcore. No time to set up lights or tripods.

5. Weather covers. What kind of material should I look into for a DIY raincover, if you will. This cam will be seeing beaches, forests, cities, possible rain, etc.

Couple of things Id consider. Even in crazy run and gun, Id still tripod it. Just something lightweight that can hold a single position, no need to have fluid pan and tilt. Monopod can be shaky. Also Id consder a mic upgrade from that azden. Maybe look at an ntg2 / cheap and versatile.

Note taken.

@kevin: I intend to pick up 5 chargers. 5 a day- charge that night and cycle out with 2nd set of 5. That way I always have 5 (or more) and if I don't get a chance to charge at night for some reason, I still have 5 ready to go.

@Noel: Any recommendations? You think an el cheapo wal-mart tripod will do the trick? I use that manfrotto monopod at my work- the one with a foldable tripod base that works just like a tripod. Will that suffice?

For security I recommend a satori pack from fstopgear.com It fits into overhead luggage and camera gear is only accessible when you take the pack off.

Umbrella gaffed to a tripod keeps out the rain

As long as you get complete stability as in 0 movement.

I, too, would love that, but I need something that is on a sling that can function like a rifle on a sling. When I'm done shooting I can drop it to help with something real fast- things like that which the bushhawk can do. Besides, I can't drop $400 on just a shoulder rig at the moment.
