1st question: Has anyone created a preset on the A1 that will match the Canon 500D in Neutral ? 2nd question: Is there a way to mount canon FD lenses on 500D to allow changing of the aperture like Nikkor lenses? (I think there was a adapter that allowed this but it didn't change on the lens. I'm not sure.) 3nd question: Has anyone used these together? What are your thoughts?

I don't know much about matching the two cameras, however, you can easily buy an EF-FD adapter off of ebay. I bought one to use my FD lenses on my 40D. The main downside is you can't use autofocus with the adapter.

I found my FD to EOS adapter and now I can change the aperture on my 500d in movie mode ( as long as I lock the exposure). I am trying it with my 50 mm 1.8 and 28 mm 2.0. And, I likey! I plan on hooking it up with my follow focus and playing with it. I still need a preset to match it up with my A1. I would appreciate any input in this area.
