GH2 3 Dumb Questions

DUMB QUESTION #1:
How do I set “C3” on the dial to MANUAL (instead of P) control? I’ve been through the menus and I’m not finding it. My goal is to switch from movie mode to manual photography mode and back with one click on the dial.

DUMB QUESTION #2:
What the heck is IR and what exactly does it do? I remember looking in the manual and finding only a vague sentence. I played with the 1, 2, and 3 settings, but didn’t see anything earth shattering. I’ve left it off under the assumption that it does something crappy similar to the dynamic range stretch gimmick, but, I’m still curious.

DUMB QUESTION #3
How do I stop the image review after I take a picture? I found something in the menu that sounded like it should turn it off -- but after I turned off that option -- I’m still being forced to review images.

Thank you for your help.

AGMedia, I'm not sure of the answer to question #1, but what I do is set C1 to my basic video setting and then turn the dial one click to M for photography. Here's my set up:

M: manual photo mode
C1: 24p
C2: 80% slo-mo Variable Movie Mode
C3: HBR (29.97)

Image "Auto Review" is in the Setup menu.

I found it -- but the problem is it's grayed out -- meaning I can't even select it (perhaps that's why I didn't see it previously). And, it's grayed out stuck to 3 seconds. Anyone have any idea what's activated or not activated to make that option greyed out?

Thank you for the response, IndianaPete.

Thank you, Gerson. This is a good option for a range of reasons and I may give it a try.

It appears the way to accomplish my "1" question is to switch to manual mode, go to the "CUSTOM" tools menu, and select the very first option "CUST.SET.MEM." and store those manual settings to C3. When I go back to C3 it appears to be in manual mode along with whatever other settings I had at M. I'm stuck with some irritating exposure display in C3 that wasn't there at M (anyone know how to get rid of it), but other than that it's working.

Regarding #2 -- I'm still looking for a good explanation on IR. My best guess is that it's sharpening with a higher threshold, meaning it sharpens without sharpening noise -- but that's just a guess -- and when I engage it aliasing appears.

Regarding #3 -- I'm still looking for the answer. As I wrote above to IndianaPete, that option is greyed out on my menu -- I can't even select it.

Again, thank you!
