3-cam (original, A & B) sync timecode - BARRY?

I'm doing a 3 camera live concert shoot and want to sync the timecodes. However, I have one DVX original, one A, and one B.

After reading pps 49-50 of DVX BOOK (which rocks!)...

1) I'm guessing there will be a little bit of TC straying .. but I should be able to start them all simultaneously with a remote, (right?).

2) Also, after all three cams are "Free Run", the TC should continue to run even through battery and tape chages, correct?

Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Once you have rolled all 3 cameras (correctly in Free-Run mode) then shoot the LCD [With the timecode display turned on] of cam 1 with cams 2 and 3. This will give you a poor-man's electronic slate. THe editor will be able to get an exact comparison of the timecode offset between cameras.

You only really need ot do it at the start of the tape or when you switch batteries or tapes. However the more often the better - at teh start of each take is prefered - and at the end too if they are long takes. (you can use this to guage drift over time.)

Yes it should work, but battery changes do cause it to lose frames. After you change a battery you should re-sync if possible, or at least shoot one of the other cameras' LCDs so you have a point of drift reference.
