Hi all,
I have received a proposition to shoot an institutional which will be projected on a large cinema screen (digital projection not from a print). The director would like to use the 5D Mark 2 in as many situations as possible. I have let him know that I think it would be good for the talking heads or most things on sticks, but that because of potential aliasing and rolling shutter in certain situations it would be wise to have a 2nd more traditional camera with autofocus as well. We are talking about shoulder mount shots and dynamic and movement type shots in addition to artifact prone situations.
I have thought the EX1 might be a good alternative, but I fear the 1/2" chip might not match well with the Full Frame sensor of the 5DM2. Also people have told me that the EX1 can be a real pain for shooting off the shoulder, some prefer the EX3 for example for this use. What do you think? Perhaps a 2/3" camera like the HPX500? Could be a bit too big and cumbersome...
RED is not a possibility here.
What do folks suggest might be a good 2nd camera match?
Thanks,
CB
