Just got a DVX100B and i am very confused about the whole 24P, 24PA, 30i and 60i difference. maybe someone can explain what the settings would be used for as far as filming quality?

And also wasn't sure if the DVX100B is able to over crank or under crank?

24p/pA = the same frame rate as film, so the most filmic motion you can get out of a DVX

30p = regular NTSC frame rate but its progressive

60i = regular NTSC frame rate. can also be used for slow motion.

24p is edited on a 60i/29.976i timeline. 24pA is edited on a 24p timeline.
