Hello,

some days ago I bought an AC160. Up to now, I'm very glad with this camera.
But I have one question:

in the german-manual I found on page 107 the record-formats.
With the system-frequency in 59.94Hz and the format in 1080/24P
there is a hint that this format is a "native" record.
What does that mean ?

When system-frequency is in 50Hz 1080/25P is record "over 50i".
What does that mean ?

Is there an quality-advantage in using 24P ?

Thanks for information...

Hi, I bought an AC160 a couple of weeks ago and have also been reading the manual.

The default for 59.94 Hz (NTSC) is PH 1080/60i according to page 89 of the English Vol 2manual.

Then, for 50 Hz (PAL) the default is PH 1080/60i.

The Vol 1manual shows 1080/24p for "native recording" and 720/24P for "native recording" for 59.95 Hz with options for 1080 of 60p, 60i, 30p, 24p.

24p gives a "movie look", whereas 30p and 25p are listed as both giving "high quality" video.

I hope we both enjoy our AC160s
