i assume 24pn is better to shoot then 24p as with 24pn i get only 24 frames and no extra pulldown... right????

If shooting to the P2 cards, 24pN is almost always preferable to 24P mode. Only real advantage to the regular 24P mode is firewire compatibility with DVCPRO-HD or other streaming firewire devices.

... but I speculate about the never mentioned benefit of 24p (or 25p) regular in recording variable framerates: Isn't there the added possibility of audio recording to consider? -Export the audio to an audio app for doctoring...
-Yes, I know that it doesn't sync, but you will have some audio to play with in post, like cut and paste to the slomo on the new timeline. Or stretch it in an audio app like Logic?
