24P HDV problems

We shot a project on a JVC HD200 (or 250?) in 720/24P. The camera is a PAL model. Client isn't able to read tapes (I have a copy on HD, so not a big problem).

Will they need to get the same model of camera to read the tapes, or are all HDV formats interchangable between players/recorders? They've tried a number of players, including high-end, but as far as I know they haven't tried the same model of camera we used.

They're in Europe, so it's not a PAL/NTSC issue.

The only cameras that can play JVC 24P tapes are JVC cameras. No Canon or Sony camera is going to play those tapes.

I believe Sony's newest deck can play back JVC HDV tapes, but none of the earlier decks can.
