24f shutter speed

I just got my A1 from Newegg.com. I have an easy question. When shooting 24f, what should the shutter be set at? Someone told me 1/48. Is this right or does it not matter.

1/24 gives any fast motion a slightly strobe-like, "Gladiator" effect that can be kind of cool if you're shooting action or horror and want to do an in-camera effect. Otherwise, 1/48 is correct. Why they didn't make that the default shutter speed for 24f instead of 1/24 is beyond me...

BTW, check out the A1 custom preset library in this forum, load them into your camera and experiment for different looks--particularly the Kodak filmstock presets and Panalook.

1/24 gives the opposite of Gladiator, it gives you the Micheal Mann look with smeary motion blur.

1/24 = Open shutter

1/250 = Gladiator/SPR look
