GH4 24 Vs 59.94

I want to use an external monitor with my GH4, which means I have to record in 24Hz or in NTSC, 59.94 and keep it at 1920 x 1080. I love shooting at 3840 x2160. Looks great and doesnt' use as much space as 4096. I THINK I will be able to use the SmallHD Focus monitor in this setting.
My question is in the editing. My clients use the video on the web. Does it make a difference if I edit and export the 24Hz, 3840 x 2160 in 29.97? I've had people in the biz tell me it will, but when I tested it, I don't see a difference. Can anyone out there help educate me a bit with this? Thanks-gail

You can use an external HD monitor while shooting UHD 3840x2160 on the GH4. I do it all the time. You set the HDMI port to down convert the UHD video to HD through HDMI. Panasonic had to have this ability since not very many people own a 4k TV. They knew the vast majority of users would have a HDTV and would want to view material on their HDTVs.

I only ever use it with 3840x2160 23.976p but I know it works in other modes as well.

Yea. Thanks so much.
Another question: Have you seen or heard about the VARY-i? Viewfinder that slides over the LCD screen? I am intrigued by this. I've also heard they are developing a cage to go with it. I tend to use my the viewfinder over the LCD but even with a modified G-Cup, the eyecup is painful after awhile. Got any suggestions?

Can't speak to the quality of that one but I use this one:

Makes a world of difference shooting outdoors and manually focusing. After shooting with a loupe its hard to go back to shooting without one. I now use an Atomos Ninja Blade which is a 5" screen and it kills me that there are not a lot of decent 5" loupes out there. Grid makes one but I'm not sure about that product.

The one you mentioned looks pretty cool actually. Seems very stable with the screen extended.

I have an Aputure VS1 FineHD, and they upgraded the firmware so the HDMI can accept a UHD signal, so it doesn't have to downconvert anymore. Handy for focusing when doing a 1:1 pixel punch in.

A VARY-i for the GH5 sounds interesting.

Used to use a Varavon loupe with similar functionality, but with a more compact, & lightweight, form factor. Unfortunately the anti-twist baseplate doesn't quite fit the GH5 due to it's thicker profile. Been thinking of having them modified, but may wait to see what VARY-i releases.

Varavon discontinued these loupe's shortly after they became widely available, & think it was mistake, as it was the only loupe that articulated.
