235 Studios Presents: SEMELE

Yeah, Ai Leen took the BTS photos and they have been uploaded onto Ryan's computer...you'll just have to wait a bit before you see them all.
EuroRSCG is the company my wife works at. She's an industrial engineer working on the architecture side of their websites. We got hooked up with someone in the tv department. Just another opportunity to hang out and ask as many questions about lighting!
Yeah, the residency program doesn't allow me much time to take off for shoots. If by any chance Trinity gets delayed until July, I'll definitely be there working under SWaters! He's an awesome dude. I'll be done my training by then...woo hoo!
Norm, send me some details of the shoot this weekend, I'd love to stop by and give you guys a hand, BTS photography etc. I just have to babysit two kids on Saturday from 8am-4pm for a classmate of mine. Hope our schedules work out.

Hey Tung, it'd be great to meet you. I'll be working on Norm's set this weekend. Steve Waters is a good buddy of mine. He was my gaffer for several of my shorts and does amazing work and really knows his stuff. I was his 2nd DP for a short he did a few months ago.

There are some a page or three back from pre-lighting and shooting in the morning at the exterior location.

Hopefully we'll get to meet sometime soon. I was really looking forward to meeting you on Saturday, but hey, other things were definitely more important!

Yeah same here man! Especially after you beat me in the still photo challenge here on the boards a few weeks back. :)

Norm's sound guy bailed and so I've stepped up to that role. I guess I'll see you on Saturday!

Hope everything's going well in post-production.

It's been a week, but I wanted to say it was great working with everyone, and hope to do so again in the future.

Can't wait to see it all done! And to see if Norm makes a better CIA agent or... whatever he plays in Where Silence Falls...

Thanks Ecarr!

I'm working on the last minute edit changes right now. I have to have the final locked edit done by tonight. Then it is off to do the ADR, and send it off to the Composer, VFX, Sound Designer, and I'll be doing some CC (Minor adjustments / cleanup.)

More BTS Pix to come! (They'll allbe made available on the DVD as well.)

Got to see the rough edit on Ryan's Ipod this past weekend. Things are looking good. We are doing the ADR tonight, so things are moving right along....

Yep, some of the visuals looked AMAZING on that iPod ... can't wait to see it on a bigger screen & with sound too (we watched with no earbuds)!

Had a great ADR session tonight. Really got some good refinements on the dialogue. Here are some pics:

Yep, that was quite the set up ... vastly more advanced than any of my ADR sessions ... I learned some tricks, I think. Thanks, Ryan & Jerry, for coming over across the river to my place so that Rebecca & I could save an hour round trip drive.

On a side note, I've got to be the most non-photogenic slob on the face of the earth ... or Jerry just has a knack at catching me at my worst, lol. Today had been a pretty draining day & it showed on me ... hopefully at least you got the ADR you were looking for from me.

Thanks again for the accomodation!

I think Norm just enjoys doing pushups in front of people...

LOL. There was a curtain drawn there ... Jerry just decided to poke the camera over the top. AND, if you remember, it was suggested that I do some push-ups for before the final scene ... it just came into question how many I could do. Poor me ... always getting picked on. :nads:

Update - Adr / Score / Vfx / Bts

Update - Adr / Score / Vfx / Bts

So last night we completed the ADR session over at Norm's. (Thanks Jerry for posting those BTS pix.) Everything went well. The locked edit of the film has been sent off to the Sounds Designer (Jerry) and to the composer (Sid). And I'm now preping the VXF shots to be completed by Mark. (Mark expect a PM soon with details on the VFX shots.)

Here are some more BTS pix for your enjoyment-

Now I'm headed back to work- I've got to get as much done on this as possible before I leave. I'm headed to Japan on the 22nd, so I have ot make sure that my parts are completed so that all I have to do is assemble the additional elements as they come in.

mmm... Craft Service table looks yummy!!! Thanks for the pics! I love the lighting in these shots! Can't wait to see it.

Great working with you again last night, Ryan. You are so encouraging and very professional. Jerry, keep up the great work as well! Thanks for all the efforts!

Wow, I looked Semele up on Wikipedia! Crazy stuff!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semele

Nice find. I'm surprised that no one found that earilier - yep that is the tie in to the story, and has to do with some of the back story associated with the characters. Good job - the power of the internet at work.

Brandon gets the gold star for the day.

:kali: All I know is that it was AFTER I auditioned for the role of SEMELE that I found out the name was actually a chick's name from Greek Mythology.:nads: :cheesy:

I had a hard time sounding out the title...
secretly, my code name for the movie was "smelly" hahaha!
I think I'm gonna go sledding in all this new snow this afternoon...woo hoo!

Ryan, Japan?! I'm jealous.
