Yep, this was the only shoot day. Wouldn't have been nearly so long, but we were knocked off schedule by about six hours (I think) due to the P2 catastrophe. Full report to come later. Right now I'm going to crash.

And congrats to you guys on getting it done. I know what you're talking about (being beat) as we just finished a week of shooting yesterday. Is the shoot done or is there still more to do?Envision said:JUST got back home from the shoot. So, about not being able to keep up with the Steadicam ... um, yeah.
We went well over our scheduled time, but everyone agreed it was best to just get all the shots we needed today vs. scheduling another. I'm glad we did. Had fun, but I'm beat.
REALLY looking forward to seeing it all come together now!

After a slight P2 mishap that cost us some time, we got back on track and are now on our final shot after 17 hours of shooting. All of our crew has worked extremely hard, but I would like to make special note of our Key Grip, Patrick LaValley (PDX_DVX), who is by far teh best and fastest key grip and steadicam op in the world. In a few tracking shots of Norm running, we actually had to tell Patrick to slow down because Norm couldn't keep up with him!

shawneous said:Many months ago back in November I agreed to help Ryan because Semele's Jan 6 shoot date was a full week after my wife's due date and we all expected her to go early. Well Dec 30th (due date) came and went and she was still pregnant. We got to within a few days from Jan 6 and Ryan asked me to be sound guy as well. So Friday night I call Ryan at 10pm telling him my wife is having no contractions so I'd see him the next morning. At 10:45pm her water broke! I had no choice but to stay with her all day Saturday. So poor Ryan had to wake up at 4am just to drive an hour away to the hospital to meet with me so I could pass off my blank guns (I provided all the guns for Semele).

PDX_DVX said:I think the biggest problem with me having such a long day is that I tend to get a really sarcastic sense of humor, it's totally harmless, I just hope I didn't make Norm mad with my repeated comments about the so called "multi-spectrum" light on REM.....(inside joke, sort of....)
