235 Studios Presents: SEMELE

LMAO!! Thanks, Jerry. I owe you now.

My gosh, look at that last shot!! My teeth are HUGE! I'd better get those bad boys fixed someday.

LOL, you suck. Alright, I've decided, once my wife is done with her braces this year, I may buck up and get some myself ... and get 'em filed down, etc. Sigh, vanity. :)

Hey Jerry, feel free to post one of the GOOD pictures you guys took that'll be used in a frame, etc. Then again, I think the GOOD one is where my face is pretty much concealed, lol.

Thanks for the post Jerry - LOL!

We went through the blocking of the scenes at my place last night- again I was very impressed by everyones effort and input. Reid and Rebecca did a GREAT job with the Russian. Norm has had some valuable input in regards to his role, which will add a nice development of his character - I'm looking forward to Saturday when it will all come together.

Should be fun!

thanks for that guys. It confirms my suspicion that Rebecca looks just as good with her clothes on! :)

Gee thanks! LOL. We had a great time, but it sure was cold, and muggy wet outside.

Thanks for the picks, Jerry!

UPDATE - Principle Photo / Blocking / Craft Services

UPDATE - Principle Photo / Blocking / Craft Services

Ok, all of this happened yesterday (except for teh craft service shopping), but I was too tired to post. (We ended the evening by cracking open my bottle of Pear Brandy and having a drink - which will make the BTS on the DVD! )

Principle Photography begins - Blocking - Craft Services
We shot one scene this afternoon which involves Semele & Erika. You can see some of the pictures HERE. The cast and I then meet back at my place for the blocking of the apartments scenes, and ran through the scene several times. I was very happy with everyones input, they are a fun group to work with.
I also went shopping for the craft services (Actually on 1/4/07), so we are ready to go come saturday. Tomorrow I'll be making the rounds picking up equipment, lights, and meeting with Tung and Patirck to prelight the set for the shoot.

Craft Service List
Are you wondering what to have on hand for your cast and crew durring principle photography? Well, you can download my Craft Service List HERE. This list will serve 15 people for at least one day, and has been developed from years of experience.

Budget Spent: $157.08
Dinner $50.00 (Papa John's Pizza - mmmm' pizza :) )
Craft Services: About $107.08
(It is about that amount because some of the items will be used for the meals on Saturday :) )

I hope you get someone for BTS. Those shots are always so much fun.

Yep me too! I'm scrambling to find someone now- worst case is that some of the crew can grab some shots - if they have a free moment. Not the best solution, but it would work. I know that Tung will do a great job on the Stills. (As he alsways does.)

I know. Tung rocks! Good luck. Otherwise, I'm sure others can take some photos, etc.

First of all, I find it hard to believe that Erika makes a habit of hiking in stilettos... :) jk

But yeah, with the amount of DVXusers going to be on set, we should be able to get some pretty decent BTS coverage between all of us.

Brian Edwards has joined our crew and will be providing the BTS footage. He'll be using his HVX- so it should be fun! I'm very greatful to him for bailing me out and providing the BTS footage. He'll be on set until 3 pmish, so he should capture a good amount of the action.

You better... I've done my part on the TTN shoot... can't wait to see some stuff from this shoot! I am excited about the film!

Sufficiently buzzed, it's about 11:30pm at night, and I have to get up at 6am for a 7:30am call time for SEMELE. We just got back (left early) from a party RebeccaD was throwing for her husband's birthday, so I was FORCED to have a few drinks ... didn't want to, but who am I to be rude.

Got my stuff together, and set the alarm ... it's shooting time in less than 8 hours & counting!!!

My gear's ready to go, and sitting by the front door. I'm off to get whatever sleep I can before 6:15. Let's shoot this thing!

Live update from the set:

After a slight P2 mishap that cost us some time, we got back on track and are now on our final shot after 17 hours of shooting. All of our crew has worked extremely hard, but I would like to make special note of our Key Grip, Patrick LaValley (PDX_DVX), who is by far teh best and fastest key grip and steadicam op in the world. In a few tracking shots of Norm running, we actually had to tell Patrick to slow down because Norm couldn't keep up with him!
