23 Minute Behind the Scenes on a 1 day music video shoot - Doctor Who Parody

Great BHS and final product! Really appreciated being able to see how you guys did the video. You look like a great team to work with.

love these, liked the last harry potter one too!

Did you cut the scene where they walk into the bar and knock the guy forward? I was curious to see that shot after showing all the takes in the bts?

also love you still use the GH2 when it looks like you have a pretty high budget for your music videos. What lenses and stabilizers do you use? I noticed one guy had on the olympus 75mm 1.8 a lot. I am debating between this lens and the 35-100mm 2.8 if you have any advice on that decision

Yep, those shots got cut, didn't have time to fit them in properly. We were on two GH2's, and we used the Lumix 14-42, Olympus 45mm 1.8 and Olympus 75mm 1.8 and the Panasonic 25mm 1.4. I absolutely LOVE the 75mm, it has such a cool aethstetic. If you need the zoom or are shooting a lot of live events, get the 35-100, it's nice to be able to switch focal lengths in an instant. If you have time to block out shots and set up, get the Olympus 75mm. It's expensive, but worth it. Amazing for stills as well.

We shot this December 5th, 2012, so we're almost at our 1 year anniversary of shooting this one. Our budget was $4500 for this video, a big chunk was flying our Doctor over from the UK, then feeding 30 extras, gretting 20+ costumes, lots of props, location rentals, gas, parking fees, etc. No film gear or lighting was purchased with that budget, we used all of my own stuff. $4500 sounds like a lot, but it disappears fast!

And we just recently hit 300K views on the video! :D Oh, and we just shot another Doctor Who video last weekend with the same actor, it's a Christmas special, I hope to have it finished next week.

just wanna say thanks for making these bts videos and not just making the music videos. I wish more filmmakers would do this! ive even offered many filmmakers to film the bts of their videos and they could even put them as extras on their dvds all for FREE and they never even respond to me.
