2011 DvxFest Leaders Contest

DVXFest Leaders 2011:


You have until December 1st to complete your entries.


After voting all of the entries will be added to the official DVXFest leader pool.


Subject: DVXFest Leaders

Animated logo leaders which will appear opening dvxuser.com DVXFest entries.

The content of the leader will be a "dvxuser" logo of the user's design and the following text: "Official DVXFest Participant". There are no font or color restrictions for the logo or the additional text.

All CGIFest entries will be added to the current pool for selection by DVXFest entrants to use as leaders. For the 3 winners... to be determined... Bragging rights at least...


Here's an .obj file of the dvxuser logo if you can use it...dvxlogo.obj

The dvxuser font is called Eight Track Program Two and can be found on the web such as here.



Rules.

* Credits are allowed however the entries will later be required to submit the leader as an uncompressed image sequence without credits and produced at 24p or 25p for use in the DVXUser fests. Further details will be announced.

* You may enter up to three entries as the primary submitter. There is no limitation to how many entries you may work on.

* The leader must be a maximum of 10 seconds long, including black space.

* Entries for viewing and rating must be provided as an h.264 compressed file (either .mov or .mp4), in a DV or lower resolution with a 16x9 aspect ratio (720x404, 640x360, etc.), and a maximum file size of 15 MB.
(The uncompressed versions are not required until after the viewing and rating has concluded.)

* All entries must not have been publicly screened prior to the end of voting. Uploading details will be provided. Rating is limited to members with a minimum of 50 posts on the site and primary entrants regardless of post count. No limit on post count for entrants.

* You may include stock footage and music and prebuilt 2D/3D assests like models and stages however no copyright violations. Licensed or royalty-free music, images, and assets only.

* Outside promotion is allowed but is visually limited to still grabs and Behind the Scenes footage. No footage of the actual entry may be posted elsewhere until fest voting is over.

* Content must be “PG” rated or lower.

* All entrants agree to grant DVXuser.com and its agents non-exclusive rights for their films to appear on a dvd or for DVXuser-sanctioned public screenings.​

It`s that time of year again. We`ll try and get some prizes for you again this year.
I have an extra few boxes of Kraft Dinner and some aged Seal Flippers if it comes right down to do it so we`ll get you something if not some cool cash.

Winners will also be announced much sooner than last year.

So have fun, feel good about helping out the community, get a little exposure and a little cash to boot.

Hey ya Joe. Oh, we`ve increased the compressed file size limit to 15meg from 10 meg. If that still proves to be a problem down the road we`ll make adjustments as needed.
 
Kewl... I think I'm going to give this a shot...or two! Thanks for making this happen Gord, we need some new ones around here.

Thanks for the uploads everyone. We'll have viewing and voting up shortly. The website is undergoing some updates so have a coolie and chill out for a bit.

That's right Joe. Viewing/Rating as usual is up until this Thursday. Kind of a "Joe Vs Joe" thing, hehe.
As far as prizes, we'll have something for you. I'm personally buying you a 12 pack via paypal so "if" nothing else you can at least get drunk and say FTW. HAHA.

I personally like the Flare1 over the other but both work. It always depends on the context of the short it's introducing anyways.
Pretty darn good good for a first effort Joe and pretty good all around at any rate.
