2010 vampire short

Update – still looking for a church. Special thanks to Kenneth and hoz who are on the lookout for churches local to NYC.

If anyone else can help please PM me.

What we need is to show our lead actress walking past some pews inside a church. There will also be closeups of her face and her feet when she comes to a halt.
Shots would need to show the church as generic and not recognizable as being a certain church or denomination. Actress will be dressed normally.
Crew would be minimal with actress, myself, someone to hold a mic for recording footsteps and possibly a makeup artist. Shot would need to be at night with no light coming thru windows.

As far as budget goes, everything is self funded by me. If we can get this shot for free I will go for it but if a church would like a small donation then I'm open to that as well.

Myself and lead actress Emily would also be available to meet any church members to answer questions in person. Storyline does not attack religion in any way, in fact it might even support it.
I am unwilling to tell the story online but would during a meeting with church members.

Got a church thanks to Cris Hozven (hoz). You rocked it bro.

PM's sent to tony, hoz, deepfocus and ken.

Anyone else wanting to get involved PM me, this is a self funded thing with budget being
blown on rentals, you know how it goes :)

Hey man, as for your church location....I remember that each october there is a showing of Nosferatu in a grave yard in Brooklyn. If you do a little google detective work and find out where they hold that each year THAT might be the kinda church that is into letting you shoot your flick.

Good luck!

Apparently Trinity Church on Wall St has screened it as well, so that might be worth a shot. Philly is a quick ride though.

Thanks Rob! if the church we shoot in tomorrow falls thru I will be calling Trinity.
Ahh what the heck - I'll call them anyway!

@dre83 - thanks for your offer! I sent you a PM

Shout outs to dre83 and Gregory, glad we have opened up communication channels.

Nailing the church shots the other week has confirmed that this film is now achievable.
Finding a church that would permit us to film a vampire piece was no mean feat.
I can't even begin to count the number of churches that turned us down.

This week we are deep into rehearsals and I'm still wrangling with the Screen Actors Guild.
We have moved over from their New Media Contract to their Short Film Contract
but with special amendments. It is the legal wording and the application procedure of those
amendments that is dragging out.

The buzz of excitement amongst my immediate conspirators is reassuring.

of note: the grab that Roberto (US Latin) is referring to in the above post is from the church shoot and has not been made public yet.

Just checking if there's something new here.

Are you grading this day for night a little further? Still looks like just after sunset.

I think D4N always asks for some masking because the exposure never looks quite right on the subject (unless you light it so in the shooting, which is not practical for open spaces, or you have a grip truck, which means you should be shooting at night in the first place :P).

Hi Pietro,

nothing new for me to post yet but still a lot going on and a few scheduling difficulties as both my lead actors are working on paid gigs as well. We had a one day Int. Apartment - night shoot but we took a vote and decided to scrap it, reschedule and reshoot because of tech issues. We are still on target for 2011 festival submission deadlines tho but only just.

The D4N shots I will probably grade further but only the blacks to make them deeper but I will wait to see the footage in context with the piece as a whole before making that call. THanks for your continued interest.
