20% off preorder possible @ Tiger Direct

The 7D seems to be the camera I have finally been waiting to buy, & this is the best deal I could find out there.
I just pre-orderd this from TigerDirect and got 20% off. How: If you order through bing.com (just search for TigerDirect on bing and click on the bing money thing in the search result and microsoft will issue the money back within 60 days), they are offering 15% off. Then if you pay with Discover Card, you get an extra 5% off as they are a linked retailer with discover.

This works with anything on TD, not just the 7D, but its what I was interested in.

Figured if worse comes to worse, I could hawk this think for at least what I paid for it if not more; or just return it.

What does anyone think about the kit lens bundled with it: (Canon EF 28-135MM F/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens)?

Oh, as far as the lens, they're only valuing it at $200, so I'm not expecting much. It's way slow, it's basically as slow as the GH1's lens, which is slow slow slow. Most kit lenses are low quality; the GH1's is quite an exception, so for a $200 valuation I don't think it'll be worth much for the 28-135. And 28 is very long for the widest angle on an APS-sized camera. But if you don't have any other Canon glass, it's hard to go too far wrong with $200.

How does this work as far as billing? They'll let me know when in stock and THEN charge me? or.. when they get them in stock, they'll just automatically charge me and ship it out??

Any idea's?

It's weird that it's being listed as 28-135, even on Amazon. I'm almost positive it's one of the new lenses they announced the 18-135

EDIT: Crap it does look like it's 28-135, that's whack! I would dodge that $200 bullet. Save up for the new Tamron 17-50mm F2.8

It's already down to 15% through Tiger Direct. When Microsoft first started doing this I would constantly check the percentage for Ebay. Sometimes it would be 30% off. This is how I bought my original 5D and a few lenses. It used to be a maximum of $200 off, but I just read the terms and I don't see the $200 limit anymore.

1. In your browser, type in "bing.com" to come to microsoft's new search engine.

2. In the search box on bing.com> type in "Tiger Direct">press enter.

3. The first search result that pops up reads "tiger direct official site", and next to it is a small orange symbol with the words "Bing Cashback" next to it. CLICK ON IT.

4. Search for Canon 7d.

5. Add to cart. It'll show a cashback amount of 255.00 in your cart from "Bing Cashback"

I don't know what you're doing wrong, but do as UKyank said, go to bing, search for "tiger direct", click on the cashback button next to its name, then type in on the tigerdirect page "canon 7d", add it to the cart, and it should show a cashback of $255.

Alright... just called Tiger Direct. Pre-orders get an authorization number from your card when you place it, but no actual money is taken out of your account.

When the item comes in, money is deducted, item automatically ships out and you receive an email with a tracking number.

Pre-orders can be cancelled at any time before it's shipped out.

I had it in the cart, I was ready to pull the trigger, and I was saved by rallymatt.

I dont know if that is the FOR REAL date, or just some crazy date they made up because they have no actual timeframe from Canon, so I still placed the order, assuming I can cancel if the long delay is the case.

I can't vouch for them with cameras, but have used them a bunch for computer related stuff and haven't had any problems.
