The first one was my first time trying tilt-shift fakery. Both were using my Tokina 11-16 which I may love more than life itself.

Great looking stuff! I really like the tilt-shift effect you achieved!

I too am in love with the Tokina 11-16. It is an amazing lens.

Thanks guys. The tracks were right outside where I was staying, I wanted to get the trains with all the rusty, multi-colored cars but they don't run on set schedules, and and I didn't have time to wait around several hours waiting for the next one, so I settled on the Amtrak as it left the station, damn boring silver train!

Well, if you do it right it makes the work look miniature. This guy is the master Keith Loutit. It is a combination of the right angle and height on your subjects, the right distance between them and camera and adding several post production techniques like speeding up footage considerably, cranking up the saturation and selective focus.

I want to do more but having trouble coming up with good vantage points, plus I have a limited selection of lenses.

So you always have to look down on things and have narrow DOF to make it work? Is there more information on how to fake this look?
