2 questions: One for Jan and one for Birger

Jan,

Will future firmware updates to either the AF100 or micro 4/3 and 4/3 lenses add more lens options and/or features to the existing lenses in the AF100 lens compatibility list?

Birger Engineering,

Will you come up with a similar list of the Canon lenses and the features for each lens? If so when can we see it? Also will future firmware updates to the Birger micro 4/3 mount bring more compatible lenses and/or more features to the lenses that are already compatible.

Not if the updates follow history for Panasonic.

Other than a minor adjustment for rolling shutter for the HPX300, I never seen firmware updates provide additional features for Panasonic cams.

Hope I'm wrong.

I'm talking about lens features. Look at the list I posted the link to and you'll see some lenses have more features or better compatibility than others. I was just wondering if some lenses could potentially become "more" compatible after a firmware update to either the camera or lens.

I read your OP as saying both future updates to the firmware of the lenses AND the AF-100.

I've not heard of firmware updates for lenses.

My guess is that future lenses will have video in mind and will be better suited than what is available today. Really, the only real compatible lens today is the LUMIX 14-140 and it has just had the firmware update to improve focus.

Somewhat unrelated, but do we know if the Birger will work with EF-S lenses? It seems to say only working with L-lenses. Can't really understand why the electronics for aperture control would be different, but maybe they are. Would be a shame as the Canon 17-55 2.8 IS is my favorite lens for the 7D and would be a great pairing with the AF-100.
